Just what I needed! I don't know why there are people on here complaining about this book.it's exactly what the title states. This is a perfect primer for people who have not yet checked out the often confusing world of effects. David lays it out in simple, easy to understand explanations and the CD is a great bonus! I for one, am glad this is only a 60 page book! I am not someone who wants a lot of detail about every little thing. I just want to know what it does and how to work it. That's exactly what this book does. David gives just enough info so you know what the effect do. Jimi the Gent said Get real, pro's. For those guitar "experts" out there that do not remember what it was like to start off with this instrument, I will tell you that after I reviewed this MANUAL, I was delighted to find many of those long un-answered questions that I sought to answer as a beginner. 17 years later, I realized that I, a totally self-taught, guitarist had found many of the right combos on my own but still, if I had found this book earlier, my growth would have accelerated just by reading the answers to pending questions. I still enjoy this book a few effects I have yet to purcha. Five Stars Great reference book! Product as advertised and fast shipping. Thanks
