I especially liked seeing the section on Welsh songs, which seem to be poorly represented in some books. Songs have three parts, a good "historical background," and most standard verses. (The editor says that he omitted some verses from "Lavender's Blue" "not for bowdlerization, but because they incline to dullness.") Man. This book is a treasure My favorite aunt gave me a copy of this book back in the 60s, when it first came out, as a Christmas present. I was instantly smitten with it, and have loved playing and singing from it ever since.
