Awesome class Class has just started but so far book has been very helpful. I am sure I will continue to use it a lot through out the semester.. books for class review after 20 years This was required reading for Drama 10b atSRJC It is a good study guild covering and outlining good prep work for charater work. It was also a good review for me in areas of observations and details of a person for study. Very happy with experience. Took a six week summer course and didn't want to by the book. Renting the book solved my problem. It was inexpensive and easy to use. Highly recommend to all students.
He received his Ph.D. Barton as Outstanding Acting Coach. In addition, he served as editor and adaptor of the newly revised edition of the classic text THE CRAFT OF COMEDY. Barton has published numerous scholarly articles on acting and seven books, including VOICE: ONSTAGE AND OFF (with Rocco Dal Vera), THEATRE IN YOUR LIFE and LIFE THEMES (both with Annie McGregor), and ACTING REFR
. The use of examples from daily life instead of dramatic literature facilitates student understanding and leads to meaningful class discussion based on everyday experiences.Important Notice: Media content referenced within the product description or the product text may not be available in the ebook version. ACTING: ONSTAGE AND OFF demonstrates how offstage performance can be effectively adapted for the theatre, as well as how onstage training can be applied toward leading a full life outside the theatre. Barton's humorous and conversational writing style helps students learn all phases of actor training, including scene study, auditioning, observation, and mind, voice and body relaxation techniques
