This is a VERY detailed, excellent source for ALL aspects of learning copper foil AND came techniques, from definitions of types of glass, tools needed, to clearly written step-by-step instructions -- complete with multiple pictures -- for projects that include all sorts of designs, such as simple hanging designs to designs that incorporate water! When I started taking classes at my local glass hobby store, I went to my local library to obtain background information and beginner books to learn more than just picking up tidbits whil. Beautiful book but instructions need to be better. Book is beautiful and the ideas in it are some of the best. This has become our go to book for project ideas but the instructions leave A LOT TO BE DESIRED Struggling with the pelican and the tulip cups because the instructions are so vague. I am fairly new at this but I am working with 2 people that have been doing this for 20 and 30 years and they cant make sense out of some of the instructions either.I wish there was some place to get more instruction on the patterns.. very good instructional book kc las vegas very good instructional book. Very detailed in what you need for each project and step by step instructions. I like it a lot.

Regardless of the technique, each project includes dimensions, number of pieces, glass required, other materials and tools, step-by-step instructions, a ready-to-enlarge template, and notes and tips (for instance, never leave a burning candle unattended). All rights reserved. And nature is well represented, from a bee and butterflies to snowy egrets and spiderwebs. Breezing through the fundamentals squeezed into, unfortunately, too few pages, Shannon and Torlen feature elegant nature-inspired designs in two waves: one for lead came, the other for copper foil. Too bad the layout is cramped and the photographs way too small. Barbara JacobsCopyright © American Library Association. Applications are varied, such as window and garden panels, jiggle stakes, lanterns, mobiles, bird feeders, torchieres, garden sprinklers, even a Zen garden.
