I am a long time Pern fan and read ALL of the former books in the series, and I found myself LOST in the first two chapters. In past books, Ann. Kindle Customer said Sadly Bad. The worst story from the World of Pern and it saddens me. I didn't think I had to read reviews before buying a book with Ann McCaffrey's name on it. It is obviously not Ann McCaffrey's writing. The book is poorly written, frustrating, confusing, and a major disappointment. I kept rereading unable to determine who was who from where or when. I would not have believed the reviews and bought the bo. I really wanted to like this book I've been a fan of Anne and now Todd's world of Pern since I was 8 years old. I grew up with stories of Lessa and Menolly. I even shed a tear when I read that Masterharper Robinton died in "All the Weirs of Pern". The planet and the characters were so alive to me that I felt that I knew them. However, the last trilogy which culminated in Sky Dragons, left me disappointed and oft-times confused. T
