My sister tried to introduce me to Eckhart Tolle last year, but I wasn't ready for him so I didn't bother to purchase his books. Helped with anxiety Noneya I suffered from severe anxiety, panic attacks, and mild depression. I purchased so many books and programs over the years and had little or no luck with them. I can't remember when and why I purchased The Power of Now but I randomly decided to read it. Actually, I think I was desperate and was hoping I would find the answer to my problems by re-reading all the books I purchased. Well, I'm so glad I did because it has helped me tremendously. I listen to this Audible version during my daily commute. It's great. I can now separate myself from my anxious . The truth behind suffering. J. Evans Eckhart has a way of clearly stating, in westernized terms, what is the essence of Buddhist philosophy. Our mind is constantly propelling us into the past or future and prevents us from experiencing the present moment; the only moment there really is. Quoting Lao Tsu (the Tao) "If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present." Peace is all you really have and how easily we give it away. Eckhart made it clear to why we do that.
