Honestly, this is not that path.For the average "consumer" photographer, this book will probably encourage you to avoid serious flash photography, and stick to the popup, or that same brand automatic TTL flash. Though the book does address TTL flash control.For someone serious about learning what. "Excellent reference for those getting started in off-camera flash" according to Linden. I had already read Neil's book "On Camera Flash", so I knew this book would be full of good information as well. I like Neil's style of writing. Unlike some other photography books out there (Scott Kelby, Joe McNally, etc) Neil doesn't fill the book with fluff like highly embellished stories and bad jokes. He doesn't use lots of grandiose language to make his photography seem even better or have a "higher purpose" as some do. He's very straightforward in telling about the techniques he uses and why they work. He does so in normal everyday language, as if he were a friend there beside you giving you a lesson. Lots of ex.
