DESCRIPTION:
"Love it" according to JAH. I had listened to an interview with Godawa on Derek Gilbert's "View From The Bunker" webcast and it caught my interest. I'm about half-way through the book and can't put it down. Very well done. Good plot. While I love the story so far, the theology is going to take some time to sort through. But, so far, I haven't found anything that contradicts scripture despite being a largely "extra-Biblical" novel. Godawa has woven scriptural principles throughout while combining Biblical, Apochryphal writings and an edgy rei. Loved it! I purchased this book less than a week ago for my son and I to read, and six days later we finished it. I recommend the young adult version for the older child. We loved this so much I purchased the rest of the series. I am thrilled that Brian Godawa pulls it altogether staying with the word for his foundation. This book really sheds light on the reason for the flood, and who the real enemy is. You can't sugar coat what they were doing, and the corruption of all of creation. I didn't really care for the way this book was written at all. The story line just didn't seem to flow to me at all: it jerked from place to place and from person to person. I think it glossed over too much of the real horrors that had to be happening in the final days before the Flood, if what we are living through right now is any indication. I think this story could have been epic with better writing and characters being filled out more, but for my taste it just fell short. I won't be buying the second part of
But Noah's wife and son are captives of these dark forces. To rise against this supernatural evil and rescue his family, Noah will need an equally supernatural army. In an ancient world submerged in darkness, fallen angels rule as gods, and breed giants and monsters. This is not your Sunday School's Noah's Ark. Mankind is enslaved to evil. Noah, a tribal leader, has been prophesied to bring an end to the rule of these "gods" and save humanity from coming destruction. Noah Primeval is a speculative retelling of the beloved story of Noah for a new generation. But why has God told him to build a huge box out of gopher wood?
