Just get this book, mamas. I love this book as much as I hoped I would. I'm a devoted listener and reader of everything C+C, and this is no exception. These stories have been so helpful during the late nights of Newborn Round Two, and I just purchased copies to give to a good friend expecting her first and for my SIL who is about to have her second. I love these stories. I love that they're real and honest but not scary or trite, and that they somehow make even the yucki. "Great book, even if you're not a mother" according to Andrew Bradley. To be fair, I've known three of the authors for many years. That said I'm not a mother or a father, I don't really even plan on being a father, but I know mothers, I'm an uncle and a friend. I decided to read the book before deciding to give it as a gift to some of the mother's I know with small children and I couldn't put it down. It was insightful, beautifully written, and encouraging to every reader (no matter your status of motherhood, fat. Brittany said I'm not alone, and my mama heart is understood.. I can't begin to describe how much I love this book! I can pick it up, read an essay, and then be able to put it down and keep mothering while gaining beautiful insight into the work I'm doing. I am a first time mom after infertility and loss struggles, and there is so much comfort and joy for me in these pages. I bought a copy for my mama friends for Mother's Day and for my friend's baby shower coming up. Being understood is a beautiful thing
