"Not bad but also not all songs get the same treatment" according to theRangel. This is a nice collection of latin charts that are not too difficult to handle for musicians under 2 years experience.A few songs are very well documented with the chart on the left, the suggested piano on the right along with a Bass Tumbao scales. Why they would list scales makes no sense. If you can play at the level of this book you know your scales. Many of the songs are lacking these details and other performance notes. So the annotation is spotty. If it provided more consistent treatment of the songs then it would be 5 stars but it doesn't so its Not bad but also not all songs get the same treatment theRangel This is a nice collection of latin charts that are not too difficult to handle for musicians under 2 years experience.A few songs are very well documented with the chart on the left, the suggested piano on the right along with a Bass Tumbao scales. Layout is clear and gives voicings for chords as well as montunos for piano players, good bass lines for bass players and everything is readable and playable.I'd advise getting hold of the recordings so that you can really understand the pieces. This is a great introduction for anyone who wants to play this music!!. Jorge A. Marquez said Excellent versions. I oredered this book and although I have not used much of it as I am still mainly using the Latin Real Book, just with the version of Suavecito they published here is worth to me the price, the Real book uses a version from Orquesta Sensacion which is a cha cha and we can't really make sense of it, while the most popular from Septeto Nacional is not included. Great work Rebeca et al. Wish they had a Bb and Eb versions.
