DESCRIPTION:

Elegant sci-fi Unbelievably dense, yet quite readable. I'd read "The Terror" by Simmons and was similarly blown away. "Hyperion" introduces Simmons' universe which is at least comparable to Herbert's (Dune), Brin's (The Uplift saga) or Scalzi's (Old Man's War). As other reviews state, the structure of the story is similar to the Canterbury Tales, but really this is a mystery . Unbelievably Good Book Skye Gray I think this is the best sci-fi I've read since Frank Herbert's Dune trilogy. Imagine reading something as great as the movie Matrix written by someone who knows Keats, Shakespeare, Pound etc. I'm no technology buff, so I struggled to understand the world these characters inhabited - but it was so worth the effort. The characters are not as accessible as Frank . August Ray said A wonderful start to an amazing series.
