We loved it! I didn’t read this book as a child, so now that I have children of my own, we really loved reading this book together. It is written in a way that young and old can enjoy it.It’s about a young boy's journey to winning a tour through the chocolate factory in his town. There are plenty of times where we laughed out loud at the ridiculous imagination of Roald Dahl. We are going to order the next one. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Right before the holiday I was talking with a coworker about Charley and the Chocolate Factory. Although she loved the original movie she had never seen the newer version. I highly recommended that she view it. One point of my recommendation was that it was suppose to be closer to the book.Only I had never read the book. It has been on my list of books to read forever. However, it never worked out to read it. teapot said A fine book for young children. Not too sweet, not too tart, this book gently, humorously, and cleverly, but unmistakably messages children to be kind, not greedy, not selfish, not rude, and not addicted, whether to food, power, or entertainment, while telling an amusing fantastic tale in which comeuppance is delightfully doled out and virtue is rewarded. A valuable story for all children, both good kids and insufferable brats.
