. During his time in the force he helped solve countless major crime cases, leading many as the senior investigating officer, and received three crown court commendations and one chief constable's commendation. Following the investigation as it develops hour-by-hour, Steve's gripping inside story of the cat-and-mouse situation that ensues shows how he hunted down Halliwell - his number-one suspect - which led him to the discovery of Sian's body and another victim, Becky Godden-Edwards, who had been missing since 2002. Since then, he has been linked to several murders and disappearances, and has been called 'sick in the head' by an ex-cellmate for his unrelenting hatred of women. Stephen Fulcher receives a life-changing call that thrusts him into a race against the clock to save missing 22-year-old Sian O'Callaghan, who was last seen at a nightclub in Swindon. Steve knows from experience that he has a small window of time to find Sian alive, but his hopes are quickly dashed when his investigation leads him to Christopher Halliwell, a cabbie with sick obsessions. The murders shocked the nation and Halliwell become one of the most hated men in Britai
Gripping Account Of Catching A Serial Killer I could hardly put this book down. The tension in trying to save Sian's life and to get a confession from Halliwell for her and Becky's murder was described in such a way that I felt as though I was involved in the case. The treatment of SIO Fulcher by 'powers that be', indicates that a full review of these procedures is necessary for victims, police and the public.I highly recommend this book and wish Stephen Fulcher and his family all the best. To the family of Becky and Sian. "A truly riveting read" according to Rebecca S. Haggard. A great book. Mr. Fulcher should be deemed a good guy and a great police officer. His actions were responsible for finding the bodies of two dead girls. The laws should protect victims not the perpetrators of crimes. This book really held my interest. I just wish Mr. Fulcher received the credit along with some of his fellow officers for a job well done.. Bs De Vries said very interesting how the writer takes you into his dilemma's. very interesting how the writer takes you into his dilemma's about decisions he has to take throughout the investigationat the same time a little irritating how at the end it feels he wrote the book as a disgruntled employee, getting back at everyone who worked against him.
