At only 100 or so pages of actual English and not the Old English that is written in its original form on the side, it seemed the least daunting of the famous epic poems to tackle. Everything depends on the translation, and for a work as old and remote as this, the translation really has to be an original work in its own right while retaining its character as a translation.
